Louisville Traffic Update, Louisville, KY (September 23, 2013) - The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) District 5 Office advises motorists of construction work on KY 841 (Gene Snyder Freeway) in Jefferson County. Contract crews will begin work this week to remove and replace several sections of concrete pavement that have settled over the years resulting in an uneven driving surface. This project is located between Stone Street Road and Interstate 65 (mile points 3.0 to 10.0). The majority of this work is scheduled to take place over two weekends. KY 841 will be reduced to one lane in each direction on Wednesday, September 25 and Thursday, September 26 from 7:00 p.m. each evening until 5:00 a.m. the following morning. Crews will be saw cutting the pavement in preparation for replacement work over the weekend. Lane closures in both directions on KY 841 are scheduled from 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 27 until 5:00 a.m. on Monday, September 30. Uneven sections of concrete will be removed and replaced during this time period. Lane closures will also be necessary the weekend of October 4-7 to finish the concrete pavement repairs.
