KYTC Closure of the exit ramp from southbound Interstate 65 to St. Catherine Street has been postponed until August 5. The closure was originally scheduled to begin on July 22, but has been rescheduled due to construction delays. This ramp closure is necessary for the removal and replacement of four pier caps on the I-65 bridge over Brook Street and Kentucky Street. Closure of the southbound I-65 exit ramp to St. Catherine Street is now scheduled to begin at 12:01 a.m. on Monday, August 5 and will continue through the end of September. A signed detour will be in place via I-65 South to Arthur Street. From there motorists will be directed to East Brandeis Avenue and South Brook Street where they can access St. Catherine Street. KYTC awarded a contract earlier this spring for repairs to the substructure of the I-65 bridge over Brook Street and Kentucky Street. Construction began in June with the initial traffic impacts affecting the sidewalks and on street parking at Brook Street and Kentucky Street underneath I-65 July 26, 2013 at 10:57AM
